| Winter in paradise... |

We're looking forward very much to Samoa (above, where Mrs Sparkle is sipping fiveses on the pier at Sinalei). We visited briefly in March to familiarise ourselves with the two main islands, Upolu and Savaii. There's a three-swim series on Upolu, then a jaunt across on the ferry to Savaii for some informal swimming and island life. Samoa is another bit of paradise. Smaller and much less intense than Fiji and even Vanuatu.
Two swims in Fiji, this time only two weeks apart, each of them followed by our winter highlight: a Yasawas oceanswimsafari. First in Fiji is Beachcomber is in late August, with its 19km relay from Denarau out to Beachcomber, then, two days later, the main swim from the sandspit off Beachcomber, across to Treasure Island, then across another gap to Beachcomber. Then it's off to the Yasawas...
In early September, it's the Mana Fiji SwimFest, with a 10km swim on the Friday, and 3km, 1km, and 500m on the Saturday. This year, you can do the 10km swim either solo or as part of a 3-swimmer relay. It's a natural course for three legs. Mana really is one of the best places to swim in the South Pacific: whatever the weather is doing, one side of the island will be perfect to swim. Then it's off to the Yasawas again for us and swimmers who'd like to come with us.
Please be aware, with both the Beachcomber Fiji Swims and the Mana Fiji Swims, you must enter online through oceanswims.com before you travel to Fiji. If you buy travel packages through oceanswims.com, your entry fees will be included with your travel package. But if you make other arrangements, you still must enter your events online through oceanswims.com. You cannot leave it until you get there to enter.
Travel packages
We offer travel packages to each of these swims and oceanswimsafaris. And we won't leave you on you own: oceanswims.com and Mrs Sparkle lead all our tours.
These really are unforgettable swim experiences, a mixture of formal ocean swim events and informal tropical water swim mooching, with plenty of down time to lap up the winter tropical atmosphere and to socialise with like-minded mugs.
